I took the November SAT and did not do as I wanted to.
CR: 610 Math: 750 Writing: 720 10 Essay

I recognize that the Math curve was harsh (-1= 750) but I am fine with that score and my Writing score, but the CR had to have been a fluke (ie. I must have bubbled something wrong) because on practice tests I've never scored below a 710.

Since the CR was probably some sort of freak incident, would it be safe for me to take the test again in 10 days since the low score didn't really reflect my skills?
I'm fairly sure that as long as I'm more diligent about my bubbling, my score could increase drastically, but I guess there's always a chance that it doesn't. Thoughts?

@IAmTheGOAT I’m aiming for a 2200…
But I just took 2 practice tests and scored 710 and 730 on CR like I usually do and most of the incorrect questions were vocab actually, so I’m hoping if I study more vocab I can hit 750+

You should definately take again, since your other 2 scores are really good. You don’t mention what year you are. If less than a senior, I would say wait and take after a full year of English. IF you are a senior def take now.

@ZBD5421 I’m actually a junior, but the problem is that with a busy January-March schedule and a plan to take SAT II’s and AP tests in the spring, I fear that I won’t have time to adequately prepare for an SAT later in the year. I’m hoping that I can score at least above a 2100 this next try and then maybe retake in June to hit the 2200+.

I took the SAT once in January of my junior year. It was right before finals, I think… I’m not too sure. Not a good idea.
Second attempt was October of senior year. Not a good idea.
Third was November of senior year. Not a good idea.

I was aiming for a 2200+, and achieved me goal, but still…

2090 in Jan of junior year
2150 in Oct of senior year
2280 in Nov of senior year

It worked out in the end (at least in my books a 2280 is good but many CCers oddly find that low lmao), but it was just so much stress, and I’m very far behind in college apps right now. I would suggest you to take it in June of junior year if you can, and attempt to make October your last date for the SAT I. It will save you a lot of time and stress.

@IAmTheGOAT Thanks so much for the in-depth response! I definitely see what you mean. Your improvement from your first test to your last (and your second to your last) is really impressive though! What kind of studying dod you do between your second and third attempt?
