Took 1.5 Years off College - What are my chances for Transfer?

Hi everyone,

I'll be a sophomore next semester at the University of Florida. I took 1.5 years off college after my grandparents became sick and to start a small business (that didn't really take off till recently). What my chances for transfer into Dartmouth Arts & Sciences?

My Stats:
- UF Scholarship (Came for this...I did get into Cornell back in HS though)
- First Sem GPA: 3.8 (Presidential Honor Roll)
- Second Sem GPA: 3.4
- Cumulative: 3.6
- Microeconomics (A+)
- Did NOT take Calculus (but I got A- in Computer Programming...will that help?)

SATs: 700V, 750M, 720W

SAT Math Level I: 760

VERY NICE HS and College professor recs

Is it even worth applying? They will definitely ask why the heck I took 1.5 years off college. To be honest my family was in a bad time but there really isn't much I can talk about.

What may be an issue will be the fact that you will not have finished your sophomore year if you are just starting your sophomore year now. This means that you will may not be a junior or have junior status when the fall term begins in September. As you now Dartmouth and none of the other Ivies accept mid year transfers.
