I attend my state's flagship university. Currently, I have a 4.0 and have completed 43 hours.

I started in Fall 2011 and completed the academic year (Fall 2011-Spring 2012).

Well... during my time in Spring 2012, I became pregnant. I had a relationship with someone I attended high school with, even though he and I took very different paths after high school. I was a college student, while he had no aspiration of college and became an industrial worker. Obviously, we should've been more careful, but decided to keep the child, and I took off from the Fall 2012 semester. I was readmitted into the university, gave birth in November 2012, and soon started my Spring 2013 semester.

Originally for Spring 2013, I would've been taking 13 hours. But I was having trouble with my then-major, changed majors, and ended up dropping a class, bringing me down to 10 hours...part-time status. :-(

So, now I'm taking a four-week summer course to get one of my college requirements out of the way. I received a copy of my transcript and am now starting to realize that this all doesn't look so good on paper. It is stressful, but I realize it could be worse. I commute at least 45 minutes there, and that amount of time plus a little bit more back each day, but I could also have a job and other responsibilities added to the mix. I also help out my with my younger siblings (my mother isn't around and hasn't been for years, and my father's health is getting weaker with time)... and I have a six month old.

So, now I am wondering how this all will look to future employers, grad school, etc. I have a 4.0 GPA at the university, but know my record could've looked much better. Any thoughts?
