I took the math SAT II and got a 680 (I know, I know, lame). But, according to this link (SAT Cut Scores) if I get above a 530 I can claim credit. So basically, if I just send them my SAT II score, I DON'T have to take the math placement test AND can claim credit? Thanks

theirs some law about the math placement test, i believe it is required even if your exempt, and yea should be able to claim a credit

and nothing lame about a 680

Send the score. I am pretty sure you will not have to take the placement test.

i guess the math placement exam varies by colleges, some still require you to take it even if exempt, i would think UT would, but call to make sure

You can claim credit for Math 305G.

If you are not in engineering and want to or need to register for first or second semester calculus, you will need to take the ALEKS placement test.

This is described here.
[Required Tests](http://www.utexas.edu/academic/mec/cbe/required.html)
This ALEKS requirement was new last year.

If you have AP credit for first year calc, you can go straight to third semester calc without any placement test.
