Took my first practice SAT -.-

<p>Whew, just finished spending five hours taking a practice SAT. I'm not sure how good my results are for the first time taking it. I've just started studying for it too. </p>

<p>I'm kind of disappointed in my writing. Writing's my strongest subject, and I did terrible on it. I need to learn the mechanics and not just go by "feel" or simply trying to read it and see what' wrong with it. </p>

<p>here's my scores: </p>

<p>Reading: 610
Math: 600
Writing: 530</p>

<p>= 1740</p>

<p>I'm an upcoming junior, and I'm taking the PSAT in October and hopefully SAT in January. How do you guys think I'll do on the actual SAT if I study for the next ... like half year? Any tips? Thanks!</p>

<p>its good that your reading is 610… that means you can improve your math to 750 and writing to 750. so 750+750+610=2110+</p>

<p>I got a 1640 on my 1st practice test and got a 2040 on the SAT back in May. So yeah, you can definitely have a similar type of increase. Just work hard and use the Blue Book!</p>

OK ANYWAYS
work on writing section because you can get up to a 700 but just knowing simple rules and grammar, use RocketReview Revolution for writing skills, if you cant get that then just get some barrons or PR book because for grammar its all the same everywhere so the book doesnt really matter unless you do practice, for practice use the Blue Book</p>

<p>better than me. i only got 1680 on my first one. its good that writing is your worst because i think its the easiest to improve. i got 510 on my psat but now my writing is 660. its also good that your reading is already 610 because that’s probably toughest to raise. over time your writing will get to 600 and your math to 650 just by experience alone. if you study the grammar, you can probably get 680 if you can get a 10 essay. okay im done!</p>

<p>well took my first yesterday got a 2050, but i cut myself some slack lol. CR destroyed me, 800 on math with an okay score in writing</p>
