Took old GRE General, applying for MS CS this fall

Hey all,

(This is not a chance me thread)

I took the old GRE General back back in Summer/Fall 2010 (the one that used a 200-800 scaled scoring system with writing, verbal, and math), and I am planning on applying to some Top 20/25 Masters in CS programs later this fall. I am pretty satisfied with my GRE General scores, but I hear that there's a new format floating around.

Will I need to retake the GRE General? I would prefer not to because I plan on taking the GRE Subject Test in CS in mid-October, and I've been preparing for that test, though the prep for that test is not going so well right now. :(

Thanks!

Unless the departments to which you are applying specifically state otherwise, your scores should be acceptable. But, if you’re still unsure, contact the department directly.
