Took PSAT todays...

Well, today was the first day I took anything like the SAT's. The PSAT. Overall, it was alright, easier than I thought. The math was VERY easy, I didn't answer 1 and the rest I'm pretty sure I got all right. The Critical Reading wasn't that good...mainly because of my vocabulary and root word knowledge...The writing part (not essay) was really easy as well.

The only problem I had was that this was the first test I took where I get points removed for a wrong answer and neutral if it was left blank. On all my tests, I was told to answer all of them whether they were right or wrong...so I had a few problems with leaving answers blank.

Can't wait until I get my scores and see if they were good or not.

If anyone else took them, post in this thread on how you felt it was.

If you know you got all the other math questions right then you should have guessed on that one.

I owned the PSAT, 1750 on mine, i wonder how much better i'll do if i study.

How often is the PSAT usually given in the year? I thought it was once a year each fall. How do you sign up?

The PSAT is only administered in October. Are you saying that you took a practice test, or has Collegeboard gone topsy-turvy?

I took mine 2 weeks ago. It was the princeton review.

That's a practice test not the PSAT.

You beat me....by 40 points. :D

The test wasn't very hard. The CR section killed me, but I got over 60 on math and writing as a sophomore. I guess I could always take it again junior/senior year but I doubt I'll improve enough.

Jman, are you a sophmore? That's a retty good grade for a soph, let alone junior. I'm a junior, got 570 on both CR and math, and did well on my essay with a 610. So wha ti took was a practice one? tey calle dit the practice test and one of the maker sof the PSAT made it, it seemed legit, a guy even came in to review our scores and show us how to do better on the SAT.

I'm a sophmore.

I think the main reason I didn't score higher is because of the time constraints. I remember in one of the CR parts, time was up and I still had three more questions to answer, so I christmas-treed, which probably wasn't a good idea. Some of the vocab also threw me off.

The writing section was really easy, and the mistakes I made were due to me speeding through it and not really checking my answers.

On the math part, I didn't have much trouble. The last section with the grid-in areas was the part that brought my score down a lot because some of those problems were strangely worded and tricky.

I didn't answer the last 3 or 4 questions of nearly every section, and the last 5 are usually the hardest, guessing it bad tho, i never guessed, just left em blank.

Well, on the booklet it said PSSS, but the teachers and my guidance counselor said it was the PSAT and we don't take it next year and we don't have to pay for it this year.

I got a 2230. The math was incredibly easy, more so than the 2005 test. Writing's always killer for me. Next year it actually counts for scholarship money, so I'm going to have to study a bit just to make sure I get it.

I got a 1950. 690 CR, 650 W, 610 M

The PSSS is a previously used PSAT Released by the college board. It doesn't have to be administrated at any time, so schools can buy a set and administer the tests whenever they please. It's more convenient than administering the actual PSAT.

I got 209 this year!
