Took SAT, taking ACT tomorrow

All,

Son took SAT twice, did well, taking ACT just to see if he does any better. For those of you that have taken SAT FIRST, did you pretty much score in the "equivalent" range on ACT, or did you do better or worse? Thanks!

daughter in same boat- taking tomorrow too. She took a summer of Princeton Review courses and did the Real ACT book…we’ll see!!! Good luck!

My Son has take SAT twice - ACT once. Scores are all comparable and within close range.

My D has taken both SAT and ACT and scored better on SAT. Other kids do better on the ACT. However, D is retaking the ACT tomorrow and so far her practice tests are showing a significant improvement over her previous ACT score. We’ll cross our fingers and see how the actual tests results come out.

So now my son is battling stomach flu/food poisoning, may not take tomorrow but 10/24 instead! Thanks for input.

I took both and found the SAT to be easier, but maybe because I took a summer prep course and my school’s curriculum is more geared towards preparing us for the SAT, while other schools prepare you better for the ACT. If you search online, you can find out which states favor the SAT and which ones favor the ACT more. (you can find this on wikipedia, there’s a color-coded map) That can give you an idea of whether or not your son’s schools curriculum is geared more towards the SAT or ACT.

My son took the ACT in December, SAT in January, and ACT in February. He got the same ACT score both times (with slightly different subsection scores) and the equivalent SAT score when you look at the conversion charts.
