interesting and unfortunate.

Wealth is a product of individual enterprise. It is not a collective entity to distribute among your comrades.

I like the way you think. I agree.

Capitalism certainly has a dark side -- Wal-Mart's moving into small towns and killing local small businesses, etc. -- but I would never replace it with anything else. Whatever injustices Capitalism produces is nothing compared to the horrors of Communism and Socialism.

like you know.
brainwashing rules. keep it up, guys!

That's why I think it's funny when I see people who don't go to college excited about their $50,000 a year job which they got right off the bat and then laugh at me "who is gonna come out at -$120,000 cause of debt". They're missing the point

a la the average Fortune 500 CEO earns $10,000,000 a year. It's a numbers game

Not at all.

Pure capitalism where people think like that is a terrible system. It leaves the majority with little. Instead, the wealthy should act as trustees of the less-wealthy, who should be willing to spread their wealth to ensure that everyone is receiving a proper share.
everyone is receiving a proper share
This implies that there is some "proper share" which everyone intrinsically deserves. As iloveagoodbrew said, wealth is a product of ENTERPRISE, not something that one is entitled to merely by existing.

Wealth is created. It is not something taken from anyone else (unless by theft or government taking). If 99 percent of the people do not have the same wealth as one percent has, it certainly isn't the fault of the one percent.

The top 1% of the population pays the majority of taxes by a long shot. Do not hate on people with money. Many of them have worked their asses off to get there. America is a beautiful country because one can build his or her wealth without feeling bad about it.

The richer are getting richer and the poorer are getting poorer, but at cc we learned that by working hard and going into a great school you open immense oppertunities for careers and advancement. Our parents put us on a floor higher than them and give us more oppertunity than them, work hard:get rich.
I just think people in the higher percents should pay less tax

"Instead, the wealthy should act as trustees of the less-wealthy, who should be willing to spread their wealth to ensure that everyone is receiving a proper share."

Oh, I totally agree. The rich should give to the poor. What I am against is the government forcing them to do so.

The rich should NOT give to the poor

the rich ought to give to the poor. im surprised lastaccntbanned is against charity. i agree with fidesetratio that you can't force charity, though.

lastaccntbanned, please explain why the rich should not give charity?

jimbob1225, please explain why the rich should give the money they've earned through hard work to the poor who are too dumb/lazy to try?

Because a majority of the poor are not poor do to their being "too dumb/lazy to try," and could use help.

Way to sound like an elitist, rich, spoiled brat. I just lost any respect I could have had for you.

and why are they poor then? maybe you can enlighten me.
GoldShadow, dumb bleeding heart liberal. now we're even. i've lived in a place where people make $100 a month for 16 years, so you're the spoiled one here.

I believe the rich should do what ever the hell they want to do, (this is assuming they acculmulated the money 'legally') with their money

I will of course donate to charity when I become wealthy, but I won't look down upon another man just because he has money and doesn't give to the poor

Goldshadow you sound like such a moron. There is a reason why poor people are poor. They associate themselves with losers, or are losers themselves. You need to take a look at the poverty I have seen. I am not speaking for the majority, but if a perosn has the drive and determination, he or she does not have to be poor. It does come down to sheer laziness in most cases. When a person can just get a free check every month, it instills laziness in that person. Grow up.
