I was on the collegeboard looking through all of the UCs that I would really want to go to and of the ones that I really want to go to (Berkeley, UCSD, UCLA)…97-99% are in the top tenth of their graduating class…So that means anyone who is in the say top 20% has barely no chance of getting in!

i don't htink 99% of students here actually were in the top 10% of their classes. at least it doesn't seem that way.

It totally depends what h.s. you go to. I go to an extremely competive school. I'm in like the top 12% but at any other h.s. in california I would be in like the top 5%. So I don't think this is any indication of your chances.

on USNEWS, even santa cruz and stuff have 90% and up for top 10% of the freshmans... i dont even think there are so many graduating freshman at one time, so its def false.

especially since santa cruz theres no way that its better than Ivys. Also, berk, la, davis, irvine, and basicallyall other UCs have freshman class in top 10% taking over 90% of the class... so there arent even that many graduating freshamn in one year, so its def false
