Really it sounds like you should get professional help since you define it as a problem. Those sort of problems usually snowball overtime and don’t get better without deliberate action. That might be a reason to not go to large public’s, where there is such a large contingent of parties, often. Maybe look at small liberal arts colleges, many have excellent bio programs, and often have excellent admit rates to med school. Many also give merit aid, which can be impossible or near impossible to get if you are OOS for a top public. That merit aid can make the school much less expensive than an OOS public.</p>
