Top 20 neuroscience schools in US?

Hi. Can you please list the top 20 schools for the above area. Also could you give a little feed back about those schools you know about.

Thank you.

since you seem to ask a lot of these questions, here are my suggestions:

a) search for them yourself
b) look for similar threads like this on CC already.
or c) limit all these questions to one thread.

Indeed, this question has been asked in some form many times before. I will say that Brown is known for an excellent neuroscience program.

ok. I have searched myself, and I have come up with a bunch of schools. I thought one important factor of CC was to see what others think; I already know what I think, or what I would probably do. And other threads follow the same pattern over and over; yes brown, hopkins, berkeley, mit, caltech and all the big ones are AWEsome. The specific question was how about the more obscure ones? anyways…

Rhodes College in Memphis is a really different option if you’re looking at Neuroscience. It’s one of a very few (perhaps the only?) liberal arts colleges that have Nueroscience as a major. It’s also got strong connections with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and is located in a major city 5 minutes from the medical district.

I think Brown is pretty good in neuroscience.

Try searching. You’re not going to find a list of the “20 best.” It is ~difficult to quantify undergraduate programs sometimes. Especially if there are a lot of new ones (e.g.; Princeton just stuffed a lot of money into its neuroscience department).

A change you’ll notice from these links is that Duke DOES now have a neuroscience major. You can receive a BS in it. ([Undergraduate Neuroscience | Duke Institute for Brain Sciences | Brain Research](http://www.dibs.duke.edu/education/undergraduate-neuroscience))

Most people pretty much sum up the best neuroscience schools in the following list (in no particular order):

JHU
MIT
Duke
Penn
Stanford
Brown
Dartmouth
UCSD
Cornell
Chicago
Northwestern
Amherst

I know I am probably missing some too, so don’t take this list as as the “superior” list.
