I usually hate these chance threads but I thought I might as well. I am perfectly well aware that there is only one 'yes' that matters...but its hard to look at my own application objectively.

I am interested in mostly Top 20 Schools. My main goal is Rice. I am also applying to Yale (I know..super reach), Cornell, Northwestern, Georgetown, Wash U, Vandy, and Brown.

Thanks to everyone.

You have a great senior year course load. Your UW GPA is not very high though. Your SATs are very good though. The fact that you are a minority will make you stand out and that you are a first generation college student. I think with the right interview and essay you should be good for Rice, Vanderbilt, and Northwestern. Georgetown, Brown, and Cornell all range from mid-reach to low-reach.

You have decent ECs as well.

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1569158-florida-state-university-chance-me.html

Thanks. I am not a first generation college student though. I was, however, born in latinamerica and talk a lot about my experiences in a third world country. And I know my GPA is bad… Far too many B’s.

Your GPA is low, but your class rank is good. Your SAT is also above average for most top 20 schools. With URM and first generation, you do have a decent chance at any of them.

Deferred from Georgetown today. Any new opinions?
