Hello all, I am a rising sophmore at Vanderbilt University. I got a 3.4 first semester and a 3.7 second semester for a total= 3.55 GPA for the year. I am wondering what kind of GPA do I need to get over my next two years before applying to give me a solid shot at the T-14 law schools. I am reading about 3.8 GPA's and stuff are necessary for the top law schools, but don't they consider at all the prestige of your school? Because I can say getting even a 3.5 at Vanderbilt is much harder than a 3.8 at University of Tennessee. So, what position do I need to put myself in? Also if you have the time, could you weigh in on LSAT prep, I want to take my LSAT after the summer following my sophomore year. Is this a good idea? And is the course pretty much the best way to go about studying? Best course, etc. Thanks

Even a 3.0 could conceivably get into a T14 law school. School name doesn’t usually matter much but can matter sometimes.

any help? please

It really doesn’t matter. Its mostly about your LSAT, GPA, and what you DO at your undergrad.
