Top 20 university: does low income urm hide a 3.5 gpa

will schools like northwestern, chicago, princeton, columbia or even Harvard over look it? Will that 3.5 combined with urm low income=4.0 caucasian?

No it won’t and I am pretty sure you are clever enough to understand it yourself

depends on the course rigor and your SAT scores. with 2200 SAT and a tough school, sure, they’d look at your entire package. On the other hand, if your school is only a little above average, and your SAT is 2000 or under, I think very little chance.

what if you’re a 30k house,1st generation to college and a 2250 sat with 2 leadership position, captains of sports teams and great recs but a 3.5 gpa

^Taking those into account, it’s possible if your weighted GPA is very high, suggesting that you tried hard in rigorous courses, and you go to a school where it’s uncommon for people to get 4.0 (thus you have a high rank). Otherwise, frankly, your chances are negligible and your hooks status won’t really help at all.

@OP: just post your stats man if you want an accurate (ironic huh?) chance.
We don’t know if your gonna get in or not. CC members tell other people they have little shot all the time, and the people get in. If you wanna apply to some really good schools, go for it. Just don’t overdo it…
