Top 25 *and going forward*

Hello and thanks for reading,

I am currently a high school sophomore and would like some advice before starting my junior year. Here is my resume and school work. I will also put my aspirations in each area. I realize that chances may still be vague.

School work:

freshman-all honors basic courses and a digital art class. I also took spanish 1 as a language ( I go to an arts school so I have to take a yearly art credit )
sophomore- all honors basic courses with AP Euro, visual arts 1, digital arts 2, and spanish 2.
junior expected- Ap lang, gov, and US. pre-calculus, spanish 3, digital media 3, chemistry, possibly Ap computer science self study or college business courses.

GPA:

My unweighted is a 3.978 and my weighted is a 4.8. Thought out both years I earned only two to three Bs.

SAT:

I have not taken the SAT yet but have started studying. I do not expect well above a 2100 because my family is not amazing at standardized tests.

ECs:

Athletics- swim team (club and school). Started sophomore year. Hopefully will go to states.
Clubs- student government, technology student association officer, national honor society, national art honor society, possibly starting debate club.
Other- church and community volunteer. Eagle scout. On the staff of a Boy scout leadership course for three years. Will have a job junior and senior year.

I am also hoping to do another large scale project such as starting a business, or founding a charitable organization. I am pretty committed to all my activities and will earn or have earned awards in each. Thank you.

Don’t doubt yourself just because your family isn’t good at standardized testing. Look at your options. It’s a very learnable test, so if you need help get a review book, a tutor, or even try the ACT. For extracurriculars, the Eagle Scout is excellent, see if you can obtain leadership positions in the other areas of your ECs in future years. Your grades seem to be very up to par, but colleges look at the whole picture. Just know that it is incredibly hard if you’re aiming for “top 25 schools” and you should look at the institution itself, not some subjective ranking to determine its “fit” for you.
