USC, UCLA, NYU in any order.

Jon

thank you guys

Add Northwestern and Florida State.

top 4: USC,UCLA,NYU,COLUMBIA....no order

Columbia is very good on the graduate level; I would not recommend for an undergrad studying film. Northwestern and Florida State do not have the same connections other film schools have.

Jon

the only downsides to columbia are the tuition and that it sometimes takes 5 years to complete the grad program. 50k a year for 5 years...

There are many Northwestern grads in LA -- they are called "The
Northwestern Mafia".

NYU, USC are the best in the country. My third would be UCLA, even though undergrads are only in the film school for their last two years...its still the best.

Florida State is probably fourth, but it cannot compare academically to either of the top three. The Film school is one of the best though.

Columbia undergrad is mostly cinema studies, but if thats what you're looking for, its one of the best.
