I've heard that harvard, stanford, yale, etc only consider the top 3 SAT subject test scores. I have 3 scores in the 700s right now, but I have 540 in biology from freshman year and world history 620 from sophomore year. Would the 540 or 620 scores play any effect at all in the admissions process at these schools and UCs? Anyone know? I'm just deciding whether to retake those two... I don't really want to take the time to relearn all the material. Thanks for your help.

They OFFICIALLY only look at the highest three. However, I'm pretty sure that your first reader would be at least subconsciously affected by those scores, since they all get sent...

chauncy billups wil suck 2nite

they shouldn't affect you. usually what happens is that someone enters in your data into a separate file that only allows admissions officers to see your top scores. even if for some reason they do see those scores, they will know that you took them as a freshman and a sophomore.

I got into Yale with two extremely low SAT II scores, but I had 3 other high ones as well.

rd31, what were ur 2 low SAT II scores? cuz i took math level 1 in 9th grade (idk why...i guess i was an overly ambitious 9th grader...dumb mistake x_x) and i got a 680 and im applying to sum ivies in the fall

lol i don't disclose, but they were in Spanish and Spanish w/Listening. i did not do well at all...

680 in Math I for a 9th grader is really good, considering the harsh curve. i would retake it if you can.

lol i guess i will, ive been thinking about retaking cuz im taking physics and math 2 in june, so i guess ill just fix up that math 1 ^_^

Read the viewbook from Harvard and the testing FAQ from Princeton. (They are online.)
