King’s Men (the name… it’s actually just a men’s choir)

History of Rock and Roll

Dance (beginning, intermediate, advanced, IB. It actually counts for either fine arts or PE credit)

1.stage technology-it’s in an actual woodshop[proudly, i know how to use 5 different kinds of heavy saws]

crossroads- uses the 7 habits of highly effective teens-biggest bs i ever "learned’

MYTHOLOGY AND J.R.R. TOLKIEN
Offered in grades 9-12 .5 credits
Class meets 6 mods per cycle, 1 semester
Recommendation: Instructor approval
Lab Fee: Acquisition of novels by students may be required
Tolkeins goal was to create mythology specific to England. Students in this
class will come to understand the history, language, and peoples he created
through an in-depth examination of The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy,
and Silmarillion. Various myths that inspired Tolkiens own work will be
examined as well. Interested students will dive into a world of elves, hobbits,
wizards, and men and, in the end, gain a better understanding of the universal
themes that make these stories so relevant today.

HARRY POTTER: MEANING, MYTH AND MEDIA

ages. In this course, the final three books in the series - Harry Potter and the

and the Deathly Hallows, will be read and examined, focusing on the books
mythological, historical and media influences. Course elements include creative
writing and small group and individual presentation. Students enrolling in the
course must read books 1-4 by the first class (Harry Potter and the Sorcerers
Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner
of Azkaban, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire)

CLOTHING LAB

my cousin just moved to a new school in a new state and he said that he’s going to take a “corn-chucking” class and “Farm animal’s psyche” class. Guess the state?

^ I’d say mine, but then I’d fell bad for insulting the oh-so-wonderful Wisconsin.

Maybe it’s Iowa ;)

My school doesn’t have any weird classes - we don’t have enough classes for any of them to be strange. We do have an Exercise and Sports Science class every other year, though - counts as a science credit…

In my school, we have:
Travel and Leisure (all about resorts and cruises basically)
Freshmen Seminar (New this year and is a requirement for incoming freshmen. I think its about studying and staying organized)
Parenting (you just carry a fake baby that cries all the time)

History of Rock and Roll

Fashion and Marketing

TV Production (not really, but they make some weird music videos, the latest one was of a guy singing Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” in a dress… not a pretty sight…)

These aren’t all that abnormal but they are kinda cool:

1.Forensic Chemistry
2.Modern Hebrew
3.Child Care and Development (not to be confused with Child Growth and Development. The former involves running around with 4-year olds from the community and planning lessons for them. The latter is just your run of the mill take-care-of-fake-baby class )

Honorable Mention:
Wellness Education (They couldn’t just call it gym?)

floral design/horticulture (…o.O)

metals (they get their own garages cuz they create so much noise compared to the woods class)

stained glass

I can actually recall 6 unconventional classes:

History of Rock (a lot of other people said this one too. I want to take it but I don’t have room. =[)

Comic Creation (They create a comic strip portfolio)

Hollywood 101 (Year long class that writes, designs, auditions, and films/edits a full length film. They build the set and everything. But it meets for 2 periods daily…)

Automotive Technology

Cross Country Running (Yes, it’s a class, and it’s THIRD PERIOD, which is disgusting)

AP Chemistry (A class that I’m in where the teacher sucks and everybody fails every test and the work is so endless and constant studying never pays off and many students report to consider suicide due to the 4 hours of homework every night)
