Oh yeah, we also have:
4. Aerobics (I took it just so I wouldn’t have to take “Team Sports”),
5. Weight-lifting
6. Auto-tech
7. BioTech (people only take this course because the teacher does nothing and they get honors credit for it… all they do is pick weeds in the land lab)

Those Harry Potter and Tolkien classes sound AWESOME.

Well I go to a Catholic school, so I guess to public schoolers these classes sounds weird:

Peace (I’m taking it right now. We get to meditate every day!)

Christian Parenting (Not just parenting, Christian parenting)

Peer Ministry (Offered next year)

Other classes:
- Astronomy (awesome, awesome class)
- The 1960’s (I should’ve taken this class)

technical support services (special needs)
landscape science (I and II)
introduction to restaurant management

Dunno if these are weird:

We’ve got:

Child Care

Fire science (like to be a firefighter i guess)

Work (no joke, for the class you like have to go get a job and work, get credit based on hours, not sure how exactly else the class works I think there’s like one meeting a week)

1a. Microsoft Excel(an entire class dedicated to creating spreadsheets)
1b. Microsoft PowerPoint(ditto)
2. Art and Film Criticism(last week, they “critiqued” Toy Story)
3. Calligraphy(the art of writing in cursive; useful for the SAT)
4. Modern Athlete(the fun of learning how to exercise without the fun of exercising)

Dance?

Freshman Seminar?

Cultural Diversity?

Nutrition and Wellness?

Yeah, exciting. I’d die if I were able to take the astronomy/1960s classes.

^Hahaha, is your school so awesome that algebra is an “unconventional” class?

Pandadragon:

OMG! that is so COOL. I would DIE to take a class on Harry Potter. Friggin’ love Potter :D

arghhh that makes me want to kill someone. how come our school doesn’t offer that??? lol

Child Development 1 and 2 (great class)
Outdoor Education
Lifetime Wellness?
Astronomy (another great class)

For Child Development, we also have a “play school” at the end of the semester where 2-3 year olds come in for Child Dev 1 and 3-4 year olds come in for Child Dev 2, and we get in groups to form lesson plans for them. It’s so fun!

Oh I almost forgot…this one I never understood…

It’s called PE…Online.

Oh and one adding to my list is

Law Enforcement: the students in this class meet on saturdays from 10:00 AM -12:30 PM. They have to wear these light blue security guard-like uniforms with flashlights and some cheap badge. They’re not trained in firearm usage, but they’re trained in CPR/First aid, report writing, physical conditioning and other law enforcement related stuff.

aw you guys all have cool electives… our weirdest one is probably Small Engine Repair

our most unique class would be the study of foreign policy through music

I’ve taken it. It’s super easy… needless to say.

^ Taking it this summer. Got to get my last PE credit out of the way.

That sounds like a really bad musical. :

true, probably not unconventional, but it still sounds like an oxymoron.

Strange Science

Vietnam class

Vocal Motion - a singing + dancing group in our school that could pass as a cult
plus my school offers Sign Language, which I personally find bizarre

oh i didn’t even know we had this one… “life span studies…help you see where you fit into the scheme of things as an adolescent…how to deal effectively with those
around you…” its gotta be like a class for messed up kids that need counseling ro something

bump…

Glassblowing
windsurfing
Buddhist Phillosophy and the game of GO

The last one is actually more Go than phillosophy =)
