Top 30 schools.....

I totally agree that the USNWR is totally bs, but that still doesn’t make Texas a top thirty school. It has great professional programs (business, some engineering) but it’s acedemic majors aren’t that great.

Actually, eziamm, he contradicts himself.

“Which top 30 schools have the best social life?”
“The schools don’t have to be in the top 30, but I’m looking to go to a good academic school.”

OP, which is it that you’re really looking for? More of a top 50? 65? What are your expectations from ‘good academic school’?

hahaha thanks guys for all the responses. I love the feed back but I’m not interested in going to texas so its okay!! No need to argue! I’m interested in schools on the east coast, preferably north east since I’m from New Jersey. I just want a good academic school where I will have a great education and have a social life at the same time. Cornell is my top choice right now, but if I don’t get in, I want to know what other schools I should consider. Forget the top 30 schools, I just want a good education. Right now I’m planning on majoring in biology. My counselor said I’m pretty much set for NYU, BU, and Brandeis (which I hear does not have such a great social life). What else should I look into?

JHU, despite all the negative stereotypes, is well-known for its social life and beautiful campus.

I would second JHU but getting in for biology/pre-med is supposedly notoriously difficult.

Vanderbilt! (well I’ll let you know in the fall since I’m not there yet)

Duke 10char

This. Some of you are taking the top 30 restriction way to seriously. I think it was only intended so that the suggestions would be in that ballpark.

While I think UT is a really good suggestion for OP, I have to laugh at this. Basically, you’re saying, “Rankings are not valid. Our school should be included because it is highly ranked.” Waitwhat?

UVa social life > any other top 30 social life that isn’t UCLA or USC (don’t know enough about them but I’m sure it’s sick)

Honorable mentions:
UNC
Wake
Michigan

^Have you attended all of the top 30 schools? No? Then you can’t really know. Just look at the top state schools in the country + Vandy, USC, and Duke.

Vandy. Seriously.
