Do you agree?

5 - one of my biggest pet peeves. Most pre-meds don’t seem to understand that a 93 gets reported the exact same as a 96. I frequently told younger guys in my fraternity that they should live by the motto “no wasted effort”, which basically was to get them to lighten up and be satisfied with the 91 if it got them the “A” and meant that they’d go out and have some fun on a regular basis.

4 - test files aren’t unfair, and pre-meds aren’t the only ones that use them. My fraternity, and the Greek System at large at my school, frequently bragged about test files and used their presence as a recruiting tool. The Honors Program at my school even started a test files system for those classes in which profs returned exams. Professors which protested were told that they were essentially releasing the exam into the public domain and essentially lost control of any material, and that they always had the option of keeping the exam secure if they wished. The issue of taking stimulants has been hashed over here in a particularly acrid debate, so I’m not going to touch that.

3 - It’s not like pre-law students aren’t trying to do the same thing. I find it highly dubious to claim that these organizations get run into the ground if their led by pre-meds - I held numerous leadership positions (not because I was trying to pad my resume though, I just really enjoyed being involved) and didn’t run anything into the ground.

2 - Again, not just limited to pre-meds. There are lots of people who do this, and it doesn’t seem like it really affects anyone else.

1 - Absolutely true, and it stays the same during medical school. It’s one of the main reasons most PhD’s, even the ones which are professors at medical schools, have varying levels of animosity towards MDs. Of course the MDs think the PhDs are a bunch of anti-social nerds with no people skills who don’t care about actual application of the science…

Yes.(10charc)

Also #3 is spelled wrong.

That was on SDN recently. It sucks. It applies to anyone pragmatic with respect to achieving good grades.

Yes .

How did you type such a short message? i.e. ten char length req

Odd .

I must be a moron. I don’t get it. i.e. fail

i’m always thought the secret is /* hidden message */

What doesn’t that work anymore?

Nope .

wow .

You guys are such meanies to uvajack.

Reason #6 to dislike premeds: When premeds know the answer to a question but refuse to tell you.

I am incredibly confused by this. I thought it might have been the space then period, but alas.

it thought the same chaz. but it was a fail when i tried it :(

:) .

Addendum: Unless refusing to give the answer is funny, in which case it’s a reason to like the perpetrator.

Come on guys, only 6?

Because you can hear them yelling about Chemistry after quiet hours when you are trying to sleep

Because the first thing they bring up when you talk to them is grades

Because you can’t get them to relax and watch The Good the Bad and the Ugly with you on a Sunday night

Because they look down on people who score worse

Thankfully, people are not like that at my college. I heard some pretty nasty stories about hijacking.

Ha ha ha .
