Decided to go to Mount Holyoke!

Became a student leader with the state branch of an organization near and dear to my heart

Got into my school’s theater department and dabbled across the board, learning to light plays, to stage manage, acted in a really fascinating play (takes place in/around an onstage pool), got selected for a directing tutorial, etc. Learned so much!

Took two semesters of university-level Arabic and learned so much more about French. Really a successful year in languages.

Only 5 things? :c

Great grades! Had a 3.6 unweighted (in honors) this year, which is amazing. I worked my butt off this year and it paid off.

Became Deputy/Group Commander for JROTC! Apparently, I was “always the one”, and was so flattered. I’m looking forward to doing the best I can to make our corps great, and i’m working with some great staff members. I’m hoping we can make JROTC something amazing that everyone is proud to be a part of.

Came out of my shell a bit. Started socializing with more people, finally developed a core group of girlfriends, introduced myself & made friends with lots of new people, took more and more initiative in leadership, even was invited to someone’s senior prom. I used to shy away from group activities, but i’m starting to accept leadership and responsibility. I was always convinced that I was the type to follow orders, but I realized…I like giving orders (not in an evil dictator way, lol), I like leading people, and I like working together to get something done. I’ve learned a lot about group dynamics this year and hopefully I can put that to use.

Found out what I want to do with my life, and made a plan to make that dream happen. So far, so good. I got an amazing summer job, which is helping with that - not only am I making $$$, but getting experience. And I love my job. :)

I’ve just done the best I could this year, and this past year has been amazing. I have a wonderful mentor, great teachers, awesome friends, friendly and motivated co-workers, and of course, my family standing beside me. And CC has been a huge wealth of information for my parents and I as we embark on college searching and beyond. As much as I love to dwell and reminisce, excelsior! We must continue on, ever upward!
