My daughter is thinking of studying architecture. She found that there were two different kinds of programs offered at the undergraduate level. Some schools like Carnegie Mellon offer an intensive five-year Bachelor of Architecture program that qualifies students to take the licensing exam when they graduate. (You finish in 5 years but are pretty restricted in what you can take) Other schools have more of a liberal arts orientation, and you can major in architecture, but you would have to get a master's degree before you can take the licensing exam. (Some call this the 4 + 2 option) My daughter has chosen a liberal arts college because she's not positive that this is what she wants to study, and we felt it gave her a lot more flexibility.

i'm looking into architecture as well
