I personally don’t think Buddha is without emotion. He was often the one cracking the jokes in the car, at the dinner table, etc. He didn’t seem to over emote and he seemed to keep his cool while cooking. People tackle challenges differently. Being serious during challenges is not a fault.
Amar and Ali had an event at Amar’s restaurant in Laguna Beach. I love how they call it a Papi and Habibi event.
Here’s the menu:
He and his wife also have nice pictures on Instagram, both current and from many very warm and pleasant images and memories from years ago. Buddha in a bodega recently in Brooklyn with his pug in his bag is cute! I really don’t get the negativity toward him. He seems like a nice enough guy to me but maybe I’m missing something!

Darn tried to post a great reel Buddha has of all the contestants dancing to the Spice Girls.
If you are on Instagram check out his page Buddha Lo - it’s like the 4th post in
Agree. I was happy to see she (and Gabri) did well, but bummed about the liver because while most of Budha’s food was complimented I don’t think any of his dishes were “raved” about. I think she pretty much “won” the other courses, but agree that you can’t name someone who undercooked a dish and be a Top Chef World Allstar…
Kristen Kish officially named new host…!
I like Kristen alot. As a judge. And a chef. And a person. I don’t know if I picture her as host. But anxious to see!!
Good choice! I also like Kristen a lot. She likely won’t be dressing like Padma!
Good choice. I like her.
I like her but will she be too nice and too close to career point/peer as the contestants? Padma had an edge to her and contestants had a bit of fear of her. The new dynamics will be interesting.
I think she has a little tough side to her. I’ll error on the side that she may be tougher on them! She’s been there and know you have to PUSH.
Sara from Top Chef is on Chopped tonight! Watching it now.
Contestant or judge?
Contestant. I have recorded it, but haven’t watched yet. Social media let me know how it went. I have never watched this particular show before, so it will be an interesting new view.
Used to watch it regularly, but it gets gimmicky at times. The quality of chefs is generally a few notches below Top Chef contestants and come from regular vs high end restaurants.
The original Japanese version of Iron Chef is still my favorite of the cooking shows.
I watched the episode with Sara off my dvd a few nights ago. They didn’t mention anything about Top Chef in introducing her and she appeared to be same size as she was before last season of Top Chef. She has lost quite a bit of weight this year, so I’m assuming this was filmed prior to latest season of TC. I will have to make an effort to watch again when she faces off with winners from other regions.
