this may seem like a dumb question, but may we have a major, and i mean major, discussion about the top colleges. like, argue.

Haha, don’t take this offensively, but are you starting high school tomorrow? This is your 8th thread in around 20 minutes haha
I vote for Harvard

Top Colleges:
Harvard
Princeton
Yale
MIT
Columbia
Brown
Cornell
Standford
Um…

Oxford and Cambridge. If you feel adventurous.

yes, i start high school in 2 days

^^That works too:) I thought you meant the best college haha, I misunderstood:/ ^Good luck! Don’t worry!:)

So, where’s the argument?

That’s why I thought we were arguing over which one we thought was the best:/

Oh! Well, I just posted the ones that I’ve heard are the best from various articles/people, ect. That’s why I wasn’t sure that there was an argument. I mean, they seem pretty set in stone. Ivy League and a few exceptions.

And to the OP: remember those safety schools, too!

I think that Harvard is the best. After Harvard, I think the next best is Yale.

This is my list:
Harvard
Yale
MIT
Princeton
Stanford
Columbia
Brown
Cornell

Hmm…I think Princeton or…Oxford. Princeton because it was ranked number one in the U.S. in several articles I’ve read. Oxford because it was ranked number one in the world in several articles I read. I also saw both their requirements.

I do not even come close to Oxford’s minimum.

O, well my list is just American colleges. I’m not too familiar with the ones in Europe so I can’t comment. I put Harvard and Yale first and second though because they only have a 9% or 8%(I can’t remember, one of the two) acceptance rate.

^That’s true. Harvard has, apparently, the lowest acceptance rate of any of the Ivies…or any U.S. college, really.

I know! It’s ridiculous! I put Stanford above the lower Ivies because, despite the fact that it isn’t an Ivy, it only has a 10% acceptance rate. As you can tell, my list is formulated around the acceptance rates haha

Reputation wise, Harvard- but that doesn’t mean it’s the best college.
I’ve heard people who’ve been to both Yale and Harvard, and an overwhelming majority tell me they liked Yale better… shrug Just my two cents.

MIT
Stanford
UCLA
USC
UPENN
Yale
thats right, i said some stuff.

i think everyone is forgetting julliard. its technically a college and their admit rate is less than Harvard’s and Princeton’s at just above 6%

Julliard is an arts school, pfft.

I think MIT > all of them. Then I would say Stanford.

Damn, Julliard is selective. Although I guess to major in the arts you have to really, really be talented in order to succeed.

Compton Community College is up there too.
Don’t forget ITT Tech.
Oh and University of Phoenix online I hear is very competitive nowadays.

Hmm although Julliard has a ridiculousily low acceptance rate, it’s limited appeal doesn’t seem to qualify it on a general list of “Top Colleges”.
