Here's a link to US News' report on early decision acceptance rates:
<a href="http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/webex/earlydec_brief.php%5B/url%5D">http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/webex/earlydec_brief.php</a></p>

Before you apply early decision, make sure the school is your FIRST choice (i.e. you want to go there over ANY other college). I'm sure you've heard that advice before. Also, research what types of people usually apply ED to the school you're considering. I applied ED to Dartmouth for Fall 2006 and thought I had an OK chance since the acceptance rate is around 30%. However, there are many athletes and legacies who apply ED there, thus diminishing the spots available to us regular students. BTW, the UC's don't have early decision.
Good luck.

thanks a lot for the advice so far ... i didn't know the UC's didnt have ED, hehe

don't apply ED unless you are pretty sure that money won 't be an issue
