is there a list of the top 50 (100, 150, the more the better) colleges that have the highest rate of acceptance for kids getting into med schools... please i'm just looking for a list do not post something like "John Hopkins, Harvard, and [insert random top university] all have great acceptance rates for med school applicants"

i know this i'm looking for shools that aren't so obvious... so the more extensive the list the easier it is for me to accomplish this goal.

The ones with the highest rates are the ones with 100% placement rates, and those are obviously none other than all of those BS/MD combined programs that guarantee your admission to med-school. If you are sure you want to be a doctor, then the guaranteed admission that these programs provide is priceless.

please i'm just looking for a list do not post something like "John Hopkins, Harvard, and [insert random top university] all have great acceptance rates for med school applicants"

Harvard has a 93% medical school placement rate.

you didn't even read my post did you? i hate it when people reply without even reading the first post.

^well, the person above didn't just say "harvard", he/she gave an acceptance rate, too. Don't just ignore someone's post when you could probably find it in each school's website, if you tried.

like i said i'm looking for colleges that aren't so obvious... i could check places that are in the top 25 according to US News and all of them are likely gonna have high acceptance rates... that's not what i'm looking for. i'm looking for schools that aren't so obvious which is why i think it would be nice if i had a list of top 100 or 150 schools

above your namebrand schools aka top 25, "feeder schools" becomes an irrelevant term...most colleges dont even publish there medical school acceptance rates, as its often a small pool of applicants applying only- just go anywhere and gain a 3.5+ and 30 mcat plus on a numerical level, and your chances of getting in are roughly the same at any top 100 or 150 schools

it doesn't matter where you get ur undergrad degree. what matters is how well you did. go to a school where you KNOW you can do well while being challenged. For some (like me) this is a state school. For others they take a bigger challenge and go to Hopkins or somethin. There aren't any real Feeder schools because the school name doesn't matter that much. It's all you.

bruinboy, this isn't entirely true. to say that a 3.5 at a no-name party school is the same as a 3.5 at harvard is just untrue. that said, medical school admission committees will consider the institution where the applicant did their undergraduate studies.

that's my point. if you know u can get a 3.5 at harvard (which i consider successful) then go to harvard over the party school. iono, but this seems to be what all my family-friends tell me who are just now entering med school.

Obviously a 3.5 at harvard is "better" than my 3.5 at a State school. thanks for the insight.

The question becomes just how much better is Harvard. Is a 3.4 at harvard better than a 3.5 at a state school? probably, but in the eyes of a medical admissions committee, so slight as to be inconsequential (at most places). Is a 3.4 harvard better than a 3.6 at a state school? absolutely not.

Going to a more prestigious/difficult school is not enough to make up for academic deficencies in your application. And given that GPA is only ONE part of the picture for admission to med school, it simply doesn't make sense to choose a school simply b/c of it's name when medical school is your ultimate goal. You must consider the whole atmosphere and culture of a potential undergrad instituion and how well it fits with you. It must be a place where you can be successful.

To the original poster: I can't emphasize this enough but look for the best school FOR YOU. Just b/c a school has a decent placement rate doesn't mean that you are going to be successful there. For me the best school had the following things: good location away from home, great city, relatives close by, big size, lots of opportunities, great fraternity system, big time D1 sports, great campus, right scholarship package and so on...for some people going to school there would have been hell but it fit me. You need to find that school for you.

cnu has 100% acceptence rate...but that basically means nothing because they probably won't want you to apply unless you have really good grades...
