Top Film Schools in the Country

I am currently looking into some of the top film schools, and I made a list of the one's I'm considering.

NYU
USC
U of C
School of the Art Institute of Chicago
Loyola
Chapman
OU

How would you rank these schools from best to worse, and if there is another non-Ivy League film program that should be in the list, please add that with a ranking.

Thanks for your time!

You may want to take that question to [Visual Arts and Film Majors - College Confidential](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/visual-arts-film-majors/)

Possibly not “top enough” for your list, but worth considering <a href=“Page Not Found - Columbia College Chicago”>Page Not Found - Columbia College Chicago;

The New York Times recently had a big article about how hard it is to get ANY job after majoring in film.

So be careful.

Keep in mind that regardless of your major, it is always wise to get a well-rounded liberal arts education. Find a school that will allow you to double major or minor with your major, this will allow you to learn other skills in other areas as well. The more you know the more employable and successful you’ll be. Here’s an example of a success story from a Chapman Alumnus who had received a degree in film and television from Chapman University.

More importantly, cost, find a school that you can afford, or one that will give you a good merit-aid. Best of luck!

Here is some thing for you to think about

When selecting a school, ask the school how many of their graduates are still in the intended business after 10 years.

I have a friend who majored in Film @ USC. He now works in PR. I think the USC network is what was most valuable.

Try to pick a big name school and minor in Business or Comm.
