I'm really interested in doing Hotel Management as my major but I can;t seem to find a ranking of the hotel management programs offered by colleges which will help me choose one school over the other. I am thinking of going to switzerland as well to schools such as Ecole Hoteliere Lausanne and Les Roches but I also dont want to limit myself just in case I find Hotel management may not be an appropriate course of study for me. Any Advice?

Cornell University has what is generally considered the premier Hotel Management program in the US. Other than Cornell, the following are also considered good:

Miichigan State University-East Lansing
Pennsylvania State University-University Park
Purdue University-West Lafayette
University of Houston
University of Massachusetts-Amherst
University of Nevada-Las Vegas

In case you wanted to know Cornell's hotel school admission statistics...

Acceptance Rate: 24% (They take around 200 of 800-900 applicants each year)

% of acceptees in top 10% of their HS class: 57%

I've heard that whether or not you have work experience in the hotel area is a major factor. They're less concerned about grades than the other schools at Cornell and more concerned about work experience.
