Top Hotel management programs

Hi all,

I'm really interested in doing Hotel Management as my major but I can;t seem to find a ranking of the hotel management programs offered by colleges which will help me choose one school over the other. I am thinking of going to switzerland as well to schools such as Ecole Hoteliere Lausanne and Les Roches but I also dont want to limit myself just in case I find Hotel management may not be an appropriate course of study for me. Any Advice?

Thanks!
David

I believe that Cornell University is ranked as the top school for hotel management in the world every year.

I don't know if I'm thinking of something completely different, but UNLV comes to mind.

Definately Cornell. They have a separeate school just for Hotelies.

Cornell University has what is generally considered the premier Hotel Management program in the US. Other than Cornell, the following are also considered good:

Miichigan State University-East Lansing
Pennsylvania State University-University Park
Purdue University-West Lafayette
University of Houston
University of Massachusetts-Amherst
University of Nevada-Las Vegas

oh alright thanks for the info! does anyone(e.g. USnews) rank hotel programs in the world/US?

In case you wanted to know Cornell's hotel school admission statistics...

Acceptance Rate: 24% (They take around 200 of 800-900 applicants each year)

% of acceptees in top 10% of their HS class: 57%

I've heard that whether or not you have work experience in the hotel area is a major factor. They're less concerned about grades than the other schools at Cornell and more concerned about work experience.
