In your opinion, what are the best LACs other than Amherst and Williams in terms of academics and prestige?

Carleton is certainly one of them.

Only three LACs are truly prestigious, if one defines “prestige” as “gushed over by powerful WASP families.” They are Amherst, Williams, and Wellesley.

Swarthmore is an excellent school in an ideal location, ranked tops with Amherst and Williams.

Middlebury offers a superior academic experience, as does Pomona, which benefits from the combined resources of the Claremont Consortium.

You can research these schools on your own.

Hamilton College, Harvey Mudd, Grinnell College

I completely agree with kwu’s assessment of top LACs in terms of prestige and academics. In terms of overall undergraduate experience, I can’t recommend Pomona and Middlebury highly enough.
