I am pretty desperate for a straight answer so any advice will help. I have a 3.18 at a top liberal arts school, and want to transfer to NYU for the next fall term. I had mostly A's and B's in high school, a 700 on the verbal SAT, a 750 on the writing SAT II, and a 710 on the Literature SAT II. My math scores on the SAT;s were in the high 500's. I would like to know m chances if any, of getting accepted to NYU. Any help would be great.

If you bring the GPA up to a 3.5+, I'd say you have a decent shot. A 3.18 I presume is a little too low. Your best bet would be to wait and apply for junior standing, that way the math SAT score wouldn't impact you so much. Maybe even take a math course or two to prove that you've improved since then.

Best of luck :)
