<p>I know there have been a few similar topics already, but I wanted to start another discussion on the topic. Does anyone have a ranking? Personal opinions and general info on the subject are welcome as well.</p>

<p>I’m interested in theoretical and historical linguistics (not so much applied). I also plan on double majoring in Russian, so a focus on Slavic languages wouldn’t hurt either.</p>

<p>MIT may be a technical school, but one of its best kept secret is that MIT does have a fine humanities program. After all, Noam Chomsky works and teaches at MIT! So if you go for a linguistic program/major at MIT, i’m sure it will be cool. That is, if you can handle all of those math and science classes requirements.</p>
