Hey everyone, I'm looking for schools to apply to as a transfer in 2008 and I'm looking at Econ/Math. As of right now I have two schools I will definitly apply to and two that are posibilities but I wanted some input on some of the top 10 math programs (major ranking system) and some great schools for math that may not be on the list. thanks.

I am not familiar with undergraduate rankings for Mathematics programs. I suspect that given the fact that Mathematics is the most classical of all traditional academic disciplines, most good universities would have a good Mathematics departments.

According to the USNWR ranking of graduate Mathematics programs:

1 Massachusetts Institute of Technology

2 Harvard University

2 Princeton University

2 Stanford University

2 University of California-Berkeley

6 University of Chicago

7 California Institute of Technology

7 New York University

7 University of Michigan-Ann Arbor

7 Yale University

So, basically, the math ranking pretty much matches econ ranking. Makes sense to me.
