Top MBA School chances With Unique background

Hi CC community, I have some questions about admission to the top 7 MBA schools
(Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Kellogg, Booth, Columbia, and MIT Sloan)

Age 27
GPA: 3.75
Undergrad: Top 10 business school / Top 40 overall undergrad with degree in finance
Attended and graduated US medical school and currently in a 3-year residency in internal medicine
Co-author of 2 peer reviewed papers in biomedical research
Will take GMAT soon

Long story short: I’m a doctor with an undergrad finance degree that’s considering MBA. I definitely love what I do however I am also interested in the MBA background to move into healthcare consulting/hospital administration in the future.

  1. What are my chances at top 7 B-schools?
  2. How about specifically Specifically Stanford/MIT (I have family in the area)
  3. Do B-schools care more about your undergrad business school ranking or your overall undergrad university ranking?
  4. What should be the minimum GMAT I should obtain first before applying with my background?

Thanks you all

Lots of MDs get an MBA because they know they can be better compensated in management. A friend is doing his MD at Stanford and was just admitted to the Business school. After his 2nd year at med school, he will attend business school and then finishing up his medical studies.
I know another friend who didn’t even do an internship after med school, went straight to Harvard Business school and now working in private equity in biotech.
Your questions can be easily answered by a bit of googling. Look at the median stats of all the B schools you are interested in and if you are in their 75%, your chances are better.
