While I am impressed with a top name school as much as everyone else, I just wanted to relate the following story to you.
I have a client whose kid just got into medical school.
The kid attended Florida Atlantic University for her undergraduate.
The moral of the story is that you don’t have to go to a big name school.
No doubt this kid who got into medical school would have preferred attending University of Florida for undergraduate. Or an Ivy. But after being rejected, she made the most of FAU.
A few years ago, a co-worker of mine had a daughter who got into medical school; her undergraduate was Nova Southeastern University.
That being said, I was nonetheless disappointed when last year, my son got waitlisted at Johns Hopkins, Vanderbilt, Emory, and Davidson.
Among my high school classmates (40 years ago), the guy who hit it big only went to Cortland State University in New York.
