princeton review
red book
kaplan

thanks! Any more books that helped you out!?!

I'm a junior right now with a 33 composite and i can tell you that barrons is not a very good book
all you'll do is feel exasperated and terrible as you do badly on those tests
they're much harder than the actual thing
princeton review and red book is all you really need
see if you can get some past tests as well

how about retaking tests from the official book??

Is Kaplan really helpful?
WHat about barrons 2009?

No book will help you as much as the red book. It's from ACT directly, so it's going to be most similar to the real thing.

^^^^ i second that

I used the ACTs for dummies haha. it was pretty helpful (especially with the writing section)

I have the red book and the Princeton Review book and I though both helped a lot but I wouldn't have done as good without having both. Princeton Review has much better review material but, as it says in the Princeton Review book, the red book is essential for the practice tests because it contains 2 or 3 old tests. Anyone else have an opinion on Barron's?

What about barrons pass key?

Don't get Barrons. I just got it because people said it was harder than the real test, but the hard questions aren't worth it. They aren't accurate to the real ACT. Especially in the Math! I'll finish it because i bought it, but if my scores don't go up and need to retake the ACT, I will buy a different prep book.

by red book do you guys mean the petersons one or what?

red book = Amazon.com: The Real ACT Prep Guide (The only guide to include 3 Real ACT tests): ACT: Books

Made by the same company that the ACT tests are made by.

I loved Princeton review. And I second not getting barrons. Not worth it.

Red Book, Barrons, and Sparknotes helped me get a 34.

Just got PR 2 days ago. It's amazing. I'm using Kaplan's too for extra tests.

Is the PR one supposed to be easier than the real test? I got a 30 in Dec. and a 34 and a 35 on the practice tests in that :/

Ok....so what's the final consensus?

I bought the Red ACT Book and I want to buy one more book to help prepare.

Which one should I get?

PR? Barrons? Kaplan?

or the McGraw Hill which has 10 practice tests....but are they accurate?

HELP Please!!
