Top-Ranked University vs. Community College

Do colleges you apply to really care what college you take courses for college credit in the summer at?

Personally, my family can't afford to pay the 1500+ dollars that most of the summer programs at top-ranked universities require you to pay. The courses at my local community college that offer college credit are reasonably affordable, though.

I'm going to make this active. I'm interested too. Soooo BUMP BUMP BUMP

IMO CC courses are fine, no need to spend more. AOs know that the summer programs are big money makers for top schools and are not particularly impressed.

I will be taking the equivelant of two semesters of college course at a community college this summer and next. My college encourages it (they would rather you take classes at their campus so they can get the extra money though). It's saving my family about $24,000 and I would highly recommend it.
