Top Scholars 2019

It’s possible OOS hasn’t even been sent yet. I just checked my portal though and yes, a form has been added: “2019 In-State Top Scholars Candidate Weekend Registration”

So exciting for you! Feel free to post again and let us know what you decided once you’ve had a chance to attend the weekend (and see what other schools may offer you as well!!)

I just got Top Scholars here in MD, I got the same email earlier today as well. Congrats to everyone who won the award and good luck to rest of yall!

@edomexchs thanks for sharing the info about the email and your portal change. My daughter has neither, so I’m hoping that maybe they haven’t sent the OOS ones yet, but I think in years past they were sent at the same time.

So excited for you! What an amazing opportunity. Best of luck!!

Oops - just saw the post from MD, so I guess my daughter is totally out!

Congrats @collegeboi0101 !!!

When you say form do you mean under the section where it lists on campus events to attend?

For those of you who got it, what’s the response deadline. Holding out hope that he’ll be next on the list in case someone declines. LOL

Has anyone from the Midwest (specifically Ohio) gotten an email/the letter? I just want to know if it is realistic to keep hoping.

@amandaharper I am from Cincinnati and I have not

@LoyolaMD91 the deadline to respond is January 22nd

Congrats @collegeboi0101! Anyone who was picked willing to share your stats? Wondering how close my DS was

My daughter received her invitation today. We live inTennessee. USC is her top choice and she will definitely be accepting the invitation. Congrats to those who received an invitation and good luck to those still waiting!

Hello from Tennessee! I received my acceptance earlier today. Congrats to everyone!!!

Good luck to all!! My son is an OOS Top Scholar and a Freshman this year. The program in March is truly spectacular and convinced him that USC was the the place for him. Many Top Scholars turned down Duke, MIT and very prestigious schools. Just wanted to let you know that the experience, opportunities, and wonderful friendships are just as fabulous as they sound. My son and his friends (other top scholars and honor college students) have loved every minute of their college life.

Wondering if anyone has gotten an acceptance since first round went out last week??? Assuming there may be a few that turn it down (believe RSVP date was 1/22), just wondering if they have sent any additional acceptances.

@uscmom23 I doubt anyone would have received anything just yet, since the deadline was yesterday. Even if they had everything ready, I can’t imagine they would send out before today. Not to be a debbie-downer, but based on other posts I’ve seen, I don’t know how many folks really turn down the invite to Top Scholars, even if they’re leaning towards another school. Good luck to you!

Top Scholars announcements are expected to go out mid February.

Double check your portals now and make sure they have everything they need in admissions and for financial aid.

Patience and Best of Luck to All
