Top Scholars Weekend

Anyone heard anything about invitations to Top Scholars Weekend at USC?

Not yet, but anxiously awaiting…

Do you mean different from the Top Scholars receptions? My son got an invitation to a Top Scholars reception with one being this weekend. Just curious…

I assumed he was referring to the mcnair scholarship weekend at the end of Feb…

I was referring to the McNair Scholarship weekend in February.

Does anyone know whether Carolina Scholars are notified, invited to an interview weekend, etc. in the same manner that OOS students are with the McNair? Any information about process for top in state merit scholarships greatly appreciated.

dId your son receive the invitation to the reception as a part of his SCHC admissions letter?

My daughter just received her invite to the McNair Scholars Weekend!!! We are thrilled!!!

Has anyone received an invitation for Carolina Scholars yet. When you do, please let us know.

My son received a FedEx envelope yesterday (25th) inviting him to the weekend (Carolina Scholars). We are overjoyed!
Now we just have to decide which parent will accompany him since only 1 parent can attend.

What’s the date we can reasonably start expecting that we won’t get an offer?

It says to please reply by Jan. 27th to confirm your attendance.

Congratulations. Since the deadline to reply is tomorrow, does it seem that all of the notifications have gone out?

Who is invited to Top Scholars? All honors college accepted students or just the Carolina/McNair acceptances?

There could be an invitation to a Top Scholars weekend issued after the RSVP deadline – if all the slots are not filled by the original invitees due to a schedule conflict or redirected interest from attending USC. If a student cannot participate in the weekend he/she is not eligible for the award.

I was informed by admissions that invitations for the Carolina Scholars (in-state students only) weekend will be sent out through next week.

That would be great. However, when I called admissions yesterday, they said that the Carolina Scholars invitations had all gone out and if we hadn’t received anything by now, we should not expect to.
