Top School in Useless Biology?

I want to major in Biology, but i definitely don't want to go into medicine. I'd much rather go into research, but i don't want to do a completely analytical specialization like molecular biology or genetics. I think I want to do Evolutionary Biology and become a professor or researcher, but i'm not sure which school will best prepare me for this. Any suggestions?

U Chicago, the Ivies, University of Rochester, many of the top publics.

Any large public university is going to have opportunities to do undergrad research. Molecular biology is not inherently analytical. In fact of the many related sciences are inherently discovery based. The only discipline that might be categorized as “analytical” would be analytical chemistry. Check out coop programs for summer research as well as getting a lab job (they were called undergraduate research assistant positions at Madison). There are also lots of schools that offer “independent research” projects that you arrange with the PI of the lab you are interested in.
