i want to apply to colleges under political science or international relations. what schools have good undergrad programs? (excluding georgetown)

Columbia, if you’re undecided between the two, or wish to pursue both.

claremont mckenna

All of the Ivies have psci and IR programs that are good in one way or another. My personal favorite was Penn.

Amongst Public institutions the offer excellent polsci and/or IR programs are: UC Berkeley, Michigan, UCLA, Virginia, Wisconsin and Texas-Austin.

I don’t hesitate to throw Rhodes into these poli sci conversations based on the performance of the mock trial teams.

If you actually want a career in political science or IR, that is you want to work in a think tank, be a Presidential management fellow, a foreign service, NSA or CIA officer, or an FBI/DEA/Homeland security type, (rather than pursue a “standard” career in academia or law),Georgetown is by far and away the school of choice. GU dominates in all these areas.

The top ten future PoliSci PhDs producers (consider only if you think this means they offer good undergrad prep):

Swarthmore, Haverford, Reed, Princeton, Pomona, Oberlin, Harvard, UChicago, Wesleyan, Bryn Mawr.
