As far as CPA exam certification success, I think the top two programs in the system are Old Westbury and Albany. Old Westbury's considerably smaller, but surburban, although closer to New York City; Albany is large, and in a more urban setting. I don't know much about Albany's program, but I know Old Westbury's program is very well regarded, and offers a Master's in Accounting (as opposed to the MBA).

I know that Binghamton's School of Management is pretty top notch, and very competitive. But I couldn't give you much more detail than that, being that I'm in Harpur and not the SoM.

I know at Oswego you can stay for a fifth year and end up with a Masters in Accounting.

Stay away from buffalo, all the business people there are complete idiots.

Oneonta has the highest pass rate for the CPA exam for SUNY's awarding bachelors degrees (ie not graduating with a masters). This is according to the most recent data. Its pass rate is also above the NY state average. Recent grads have also gotten some great jobs at big accounting firms making a very good starting salary.
