TOP TIER SCHOOLS CHANCE PLEASE!!! Will chance back pronto.

Hello, I'm a rising senior in Cali interested in engineering (specificially comp sci and mech e)
UC Berkeley
Carnegie Mellon
Cal tech
Georgia Tech
Stanford
UCSD and UWash (legacy) are safeties
Cornell
MIT (maybe)
Princeton

GPA: 4.0 UW
4.6 UC GPA (my weighted is about the same)

-I've taken 4 APs and 4 honors so far, with 4 more coming up next year (taken all possible)

-N/A out of 400 (my school had the ingenious idea of not ranking us)

-SAT/ACT scores -- 2250 (710 math 740 reading 800 writing) I don't know what happened in math on that one. I got 800s on my other two (2180 2200) so super score is 2340.

-SAT II scores: 800 Math 2, 800 Bio E, 800 USH

-AP scores not here yet, but I'm confident for 5s on everything minus french

-ECs -- Robotics: 9-12 co-president in junior year. Won Sacramento regional with team as freshman (heavily involved) team lead soph year and junior year we made it to the semis in Silicon Valley Regional
VP of French Honor Society
Volunteer at Children's Discovery Museum
co-EIC of yearbook
Varsity Football Team

-employment -- Currently working as an Earth Science Research Consultant (official title) at NASA Ames Research Center. Use GIS and numerous satellites (GRACE, MODIS) to track groundwater levels in Central Valley. Only high schooler on a team comprised of graduate and undergraduate students.

-honors/awards -- Won BLADE Networks Entrepreneurship Award for innovative task card training system that myself and another member of robotics developed
2010 yearbook won prestigious Gold Crown and Pacemaker award.

-solid recs from robotics mentor, AP Bio teacher, and AP Calc teacher

-White male.

Also, does anyone have any suggestions for schools I should focus on? My list is a bit short at the moment

MIT, Cal Tech, Berkeley, and Carnegie Mellon are the schools you should really focus on. I suggest you tie your love for robotics/ engineering to innovation and business using your ECs. Those struck me as the most intriguing.

UC Berkeley match
Carnegie Mellon match
Cal tech reach
Georgia Tech match
Stanford reach
UCSD and UWash (legacy) are safeties
Cornell match
MIT (maybe) reach
Princeton reach

Chance me back please!

Berkeley- Match
CMU- Match
GA Tech- Match
Cal Tech- Low-Mid Reach
Stanford- Mid Reach
MIT- Mid Reach
Cornell- Mid-High Reach
Princeton- High Reach

Ivies are always unpredictable even with amazing stats. Your ECs show a clear focus and you have good stats that make you a competitive applicant.

[Chance me back?](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1167774-chance-top-schools-will-chance-back.html)

I agree that Ivies are very unpredictable. I live about an hour away from Berkeley and 20 minutes from Stanford, but I’d like to see how I compare to the cream of the crop that apply to Ivies. I’m mainly interested in the scientific research oriented ones anyways. Thanks for your help!

I didn’t do well on AP French either lol. Besides Princeton and MIT you look like a match for all. I think Stanford will be a slight reach but definitely likely. You still are a strong candidate for MIT and Princeton so just apply. Good luck and I’m sure you’ll get the school you want. As for how you compare, you stack up well…

CHANCE ME BACK!!!
