This year I am a high school senior, and I plan on attending college next year. I'm not entirely sure what I would like to major in, as my preference changes weekly, but at the moment I am interested in accounting. Could anyone tell me of any colleges with good business programs? I'm a good student but my SATs are mediocre, so I'm not even going to try and apply to Wharton. How are the business schools at Pitt or Penn State? I heard Villanova has a decent business program. I prefer to stay in state, as it is cheaper. All opinions and comments are welcome. This is my first time using thie website.

Both Penn State and Pitt have good business schools. Penn State (Smeal) is more highly ranked but Pitt puts you in a great position for internships and jobs with major employers in Pittsburgh and also has a good reputation nationally. Villanova is private so being in-state should not matter for tuition. Pitt or Penn State (or Temple) would be better values before financial aid.

Other than the schools you already listed, Lehigh is also very good for business. You can look into St. Joe’s as well.

Another private choice would be Drexel. They offer co-op which might be attractive to you.

Along those lines, Pitt has a guaranteed internship program:

Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper Business school if you can get in.

Carnegie Mellon (Tepper) would be only slightly less selective than Wharton. Also as a private school, it’ll be expensive. The OP appeared to be concerned about cost. The OP might want to consider expanding beyond PA. Indiana (Kelly) might be an option. Maybe SUNY Binghamton (well-regarded for business and accounting)?

UPenn would be the obvious answer. Not the feasible one is suppose.
