Top undergraduate business programs

Texas definitely lets people in as freshmen...

It is hillarious and quite rediculous how highly coveted we hold these rankings. US News looks at the school's stats and ranks them in order according to that information. They have no experience inside the schools and somehow think they are the official designator of which school goes where.

Go where you like it! Go where you know you can succeed! It took me a long time to realize this.

My mistake on Texas--yes, they belong on the all as freshman list--sorry.

As far as the rankings--I think they need to be taken with a grain of salt, obviously, but they can help guide students and their parents in knowing which schools to consider in their decision. In this way, I think they are helpful. The problem, as harmon25 points out, is that it doesn't tell you where you will be happiest, and most successful. This is something each individual needs to figure out for themself.

I'm a freshman at university of houston but i'm thinking of transferring to another university. What is the ranking of the bauer college of business and what universities in the top 50 for undergrad business have the highest transfer acceptance percentage?

pratap- I am from the Twin Cities area and would recommend the University of Minnesota. It is highly respected in the region and is located in the heart of the city. I believe that the "U" will give you a more cosmopolitan feeling than Indiana. The Twin Cities are home to a diverse group of companies (retail, banking, biomedical, financial services, etc.)- which offer many different job sectors and the oppurtunity for international careers. However, having said that, I will mention that Indiana is a "hot" business school right now and might offer a more typical college atmosphere. Minnesota is a huge school in a large metropolitan area. Indiana is a big school in a medium sized city.

Krannert is stellar also.

hey david /guys and gals!
thanx for ur opinion about UMN and Indiana
the point is Indiana is hot right now and the phase of being red hot changes from each year!

IU might be slightly better in business, but I believe that the undergraduate experience at Minn gives you the opportunity to grow more as a person. My two brothers go to the U of Minn and living in the big city has taught them leaps and bounds. Take into account scholarships or any financial aid that you might be getting. You may not receive very much aid since you're international but the cost is definitely something that should be considered. You really can't go wrong with either school. Good Luck!

bump...

and... why are these so much different from Business Week's? Business Week's seems more "appropriate" if you ask me.
