Top undergraduate finance major schools for me

Hey guys , before applying to any college this fall(2016), I depended on the online rankings to make my decision. However due to different schools proposed by different rankings (US News, Bloomington, Poets and Quants) , I think i did not make a very informed decision about selecting my college list. Now my decisions have come out and there is a great problem which i think only another student will understand.I have been admitted into Boston College ,Indiana University(with little scholarship),Penn state ,Northeastern College. According to all the ranking the top 2 finance colleges i have are Boston College(MCAS) and Indiana University(CAS).
However Boston has no internal transfer policy(checked by e-mailing them) whereas Indiana has so i will have to take a transfer next year from Boston .Also according to the US News rankings Finance in Boston College is ranked 2 ranks lower than Finance in Indiana. But Boston as an overall college is a lot more reputed than Indiana, so better campus placements are possible in Boston College .Also other rankings like Bloomington show Boston ranked higher than Indiana.

Which rankings should i consider ? Should I stay in Indiana and take a safe internal transfer policy to Kelley or should i go to Boston College and transfer to a better college because I know i can perform well in college.

Thanks in advance for your response .Please reply Asap as enrollment deposit deadline is closing in.

You place WAY too much in those rankings. And then, your analysis is faulty. What separates 2 and 1? I challenge you to find anything significant besides some internal algorithms of the people doing the ranking. Here’s a chance to put your analytical prowess into action. I think you’ll find that the difference between anyone in the top 15 to be marginal and on any given day, you could toss them in the air and no one would be able to see any difference.

Agree, the rankings place the two schools you are considering squarely in the same ballpark so that is not an issue IMO. Go to the school you prefer and where you are comfortable with the transfer policy.

The Rankings re these schools are not that different, so base your decision on cost and fit? What part of the country do you want to live in after you graduate?

Boston College, no doubt. I applied to CSOM but got rejected :frowning:
