Which are the best universities in USA and Canada for Engineering and economics

you need to explain more. what types of schools are you looking for? Cause everyone can just name off HYPS and say they're the best (they really are the best)

No, they're not necessarily the best for every discipline. Harvard and Yale especially are known for not being as strong as their peers in engineering.

collegehelp's list is good (for economics).

Stanford, MIT, Penn (M&T Program!)

Universities with top 25 Economics departments and top 25 Engineering programs:

California-Institute of Technology
Carnegie Mellon University
Columbia University
Cornell University
Duke University
Johns Hopkins University
Massachusetts Institute of Technology*
Northwestern University
Princeton University
Rice University
Stanford University*
University of California-Berkeley*
University of California-Los Angeles

So I'd say Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, and UMich.

Not really. For undergrad, any of those schools in my list would be great. But MIT is ranked first in both, a veritable dream for an Engineering/Econ double major.

The OP wanted the top universities in both programs, not just the singular best, nor a list of great ones.

According to USN graduate econ ranking + undergrad engineering ranking (there's no undergrad econ ranking):

Stanford, Berkeley, and MIT are top-5 in both fields.
Cornell, Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Michigan are top-15 in both fields.
