Topic: coming to America cliche?

i wanna write about my experience coming to america and learning english, but will it be too cliche cuz other international student would probably write about this
how they're like rich snobs and then sent by parents to th US and misses their home but eventually adapt and learn...bla bla blaaa...
any suggestions??

It’s a very common topic. The topic is not nearly as important as how it flows and what it reflects about you though.

Yes it’s cliche. You can still write about it…but it’ll have to be super well written. It’ll be hard and risky if you choose to do this.

How about you take a SPECIFIC experience about coming to America? Don’t do a general: I packed up, cried, said goodbye, went on airplane, landed, bittersweet moment.

Talk about your first day or first week at your new school. (specific cultural differences)
American driver’s seats are on the left while European seats are on the right. You can talk about that.
The different food.
Your new friends.
The American dollar.
Ect…

think about your experience of coming to america. what particularly stands out?

True, your topic is cliche; however, I am sure there has to be something unique about your experience.

There are no cliche topics.

There are only cliche treatments of topics.

I’ve read some excellent essays on the topic under discussion here.

alright thanks guys for the advice
