My S wrote a really good essay for essay C that speaks about one aspect of who he is and life experience. It, however, doesen't touch on his education at all. It also didn't speak to his educational and professional goals. My question is, is there any type of information that should be included in essay C in order to qualify a student for scholarships or honors programs etc? He is in the top 10% so it won't affect admission.

I don’t think your son needs to mention his education at all. His education is all over the pages of the rest of his application.

I think that essay questions like this one are intentionally vague and open-ended. The student can write about anything that is important to him or her. People reading the essays are not looking for canned responses. They are looking for what makes each student tick. Therefore, there are no right answers.

My son was awarded large scholarships and his essay C did not touch on his education or professional goals at all. His essay C could only have been written by him – it was entirely unique to him.

Good luck to your son! :)

I Spoke about My mission trips to help rebuild after hurricane katrina, working in homeless shelters on a another mission trip up to philly, and how i love being involved in the community and such!

Thank you both for your replies. It looks like he got it right and is on track. Yay, one more essay completed!
